Projects to finish and some to start: Time to Vote!

So I was cleaning up the sawdust and miscellaneous debris from the basement renovations today and discovered in my workshop, this bits I could access, that I have a few projects that need to be finished along with a few that need to be started.
The tough point once the basement is done and the plasma tv is fixed and the workshop is cleared out and back to a useable room is going to be, which ones to undertake first?

Here is what I've got going. I'd like to take a vote amongst you, my loyal readers, on what ones I should do first.

- Design and build the CNC machine.
- Finish the Spad XIII R/C plane.
- Rebuild an old tube guitar amp.

What I did find which I had forgotten about were these, which were given to me as scrap. I have a feeling I can get them going.

- 2 PS3 consoles
- 3 Xbox 360 consoles

I'd imagine with those I'd be able to make one working machine. At least I hope. It's worked in the past with first gen xbox's.

So the poll is in. Something from the top half or resurrect a dead console?

You sunk my iced cream ship

One of the perks of summer BBQ's at work, the occasional awesomeness of the iced cream truck showing up and it being all on the house.

I sent this food to the only place suitable... in my belly!

And now it's time to have a diabetes coma.
See you soon.

Copyright fighting done right

Today I read an article on www.BoingBoing.net by one of my favorite authors, Cory Doctorow and I have to share it.
This is an ISP that is doing it right when it comes to fighting copyright trolls. This CEO "gets it" when it comes to what should and should not be done in copyright chasing and has a full grasp on how many variables there are in having a connection and the amount of "what ifs" are involved in determining the owner of any said infringement.
There need to be more CEO's with a good technical background who want to stay well informed and stand up to the thousands of illegitimate copyright infringement notices and not just bend over to the "big Hollywood machine" of money and lawyers.

Here is the article, it's a great read. Check it out, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Automobiles, hold the electrons.

I'm sad to say that my electric car ambitions have been put on hold for a while. All of my car funds got gobbled up by a stove and fridge that went on the same night back in March.
What are the odds?
Jackie and I also decided to go "gun-ho" on finishing the basement and that has turned out to be a costly affair.
So for the next little while my electric car plans have been put on hold pending funds. New job, lottery winnings, the kaiser dropping silver dollars from his graf zeppelin, whatever it may be.

I'm really hoping to do one eventually, but on the plus side I'll have time to do all of the other projects around here that will cost very little or no money to do.

I'll be uploading some pictures of the recent house related projects soon.

Well here I am... again.

So for the past few months it's been nuts around here. Lots of work, work on the house and work on the house. The good news is that the basement is almost done. I've only got a little bit of the ceiling, the last half pieces of hardwood to put down by the edge of the wall and then trim and the living room is done. The hallway is about 70% done as well. I'll post some pictures once I've cleaned up a bit down there.
I am so very close to being finished and then I can get back to having a useable workshop again. Can't wait!

I'll be back onto a more regular posting regiment as well. Now that the 4:30am start time, then come home from work and work on the house till 10-11pm each night is over.

You can look forward to the following to come.
- repairing a 55" plasma TV.
- building a new workshop in a small space.
- cnc on a dime. V 2.0
- more r/c builds.
- book reviews and recommendations.
And much more!

See you very soon.
