Wii Sensor USB mod

So a friend of mine, Chris, asked me if I could make a Wii sensor bar work off USB so that he can use it on his computer with a GameCube/Wii emulator.
It's a very basic mod but a fun one none the less.

Basically the Wii sensor bar consists of 6 IR LED's on offset angles that are then picked up by the micro camera in the Wii Remote. This is how the bulk of the tracking is done. The same thing can be done with two candles as they emit IR. This is also how you can have problems if your TV is setup in front of a big bay window and you have the curtains open while playing.

The mod consists of just replacing the existing Wii connector & wire with a USB cable. The bar itself is set to run off of +5/Ground, so using a straight USB cable
All was needed was to just take it apart, desolder the existing cable, snip one end off the USB cable and solder it in place.

Here are some shots of the new USB cable in place and the finished closed up unit.
